New Delhi: Noted Punjabi Pop singer Daler Mehndi was today (Dec 19, 2003) detained by Delhi Police, minutes after he submitted before the Supreme Court that he would surrender before the concerned court on January 8, 2004.

Mehndi, wanted in a human trafficking case filed against him by Punjab Police, was detained in South Delhi and the police was now examining legal modalities before placing him under arrest, police said.
