Delhiites wake up to first foggy morning of winter!
Friday, December 19 2003 11:03 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Several trains were delayed and traffic moved slowly in the national capital today (Dec 19, 2003), as mercury dipped and thick fog engulfed Northern parts of the country.

Delhiites woke up to the first foggy morning of the winter season, with students and office-goers facing problems in reaching their destination due to poor visibility.

Several trains were stranded at various stations and running behind schedule due to poor visibility, Northern Railway sources said.

Vehicles were seen moving at a slow pace with their headlights turned on.

There were reports of several flights from the capital being delayed by a few hours.

Meteorological officials had attributed the chilly condition to the cold winds blowing from the North.

Meteorological department had predicted mist and fog this morning coupled with a partly cloudy sky.
