Friday, December 19 2003 22:22 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: The Centre is considering appointing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Madan Lal Khurana as Governor of Rajasthan even as it is said to be planning Gubernatorial changes.

Lt Governor of Andaman and Nicobar N N Jha maybe moved to Pondicherry and former BJP MP Ram Kapse is likely to replace Jha, sources said.

This follows Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's consultations with Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani and BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu, party sources said.

Khurana, who was replaced by Dr Harshvardhan as Delhi BJP president, had in his letter to Naidu said that he wanted to "retire from active politics for now" and is expected to resign from his Lok Sabha seat soon.
