Friday, December 19 2003 22:43 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: India has so far received no request for troops from Bhutan to help the Himalayan kingdom in its military operations to flush out insurgents of ULFA (United Liberation Front of Assam) and other groups based in that country, External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha said tonight (Dec 19, 2003).

"No request has been made and I do not think that situation has arisen so far," Sinha told reporters after a two-hour meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) presided by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
