DMK’s withdrawal will not affect NDA Govt: BJP
Saturday, December 20 2003 16:22 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today (Dec 20, 2003) said, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam's (DMK) decision to withdraw its Ministers from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government, but to give issue based support, would neither affect the ruling coalition at the Centre nor its relationship with that party.

"The DMK’s decision to withdraw its Ministers from the Government but to continue issue based support is not a contradiction, since the party had taken a similar stand even earlier," BJP spokesman and General Secretary Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi told reporters in New Delhi.

He said DMK's decision would in no way affect the relationship between BJP and DMK and "there is no threat to the Government."
