Shiv Sainiks go on a rampage at mall; 11 arrested
Tuesday, December 23 2003 22:51 Hrs (IST)

Mumbai: Eleven people were arrested after alleged Shiv Sainiks barged into a popular shopping mall and went on a rampage spree at Mulund in North Mumbai today (Dec 21, 2003).

The mob of around 200 people entered the store and broke the window-panes of the Big Bazaar shopping mall, police sources said.

The Sainiks were protesting against the security guard employed at the shopping mall who had beaten up a 22-year-old man on "charges of shoplifting", leading to his death subsequently, police said.

The situation was now peaceful and under control, police said.
