Three NDFB (National Democratic Front of Bodoland) militants after being chased away from Bhutan today (Dec 22, 2003) surrendered in Assam, while the RBA (Royal Bhutan Army) was cordoning off the jungles in eastern side of south Bhutan to track down the North East based fleeing militants as their camps were demolished.
According to official sources, three NDFB ultras, Binesh Daimary, Raju Mushahary and Pradeep Ramchiary surrendered to the Army and deposited one rifle, one Chinese grenade and one magazine at Nalbari in Assam.
Army sources said that the three were on the run and had come down from their camps in Bhutan following the operation in the Himalayan kingdom by the Royal Bhutan Army.
Meanwhile, the sources said the RBA was cordoning off the thick jungles in eastern side of south Bhutan as the militants had fled after their camps were dislodged.
The RBA had earlier reported to have seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition including 700 weapons from the ULFA (United Liberation Front of Assam), NDFB and KLO (Kamtapur Liberation Organisation) cadres, the sources said.
