11 injured in grenade blast at Kashmir bus stand

Srinagar: Eleven persons including two policemen were injured when militants exploded a grenade at a crowded bus stand in Anantnag district of South Kashmir today (Dec 22, 2003), official sources said.

Militants lobbed a grenade on a party of Special Operation Group (SOG) of local police at a bus stand in Kulgam township, 75 km from Srinagar, around 13:45 hours (IST), the sources said.

Nine civilians and two SOG personnel were injured as the grenade exploded causing panic among the people at the bus stop.

All the injured were shifted to hospital and a hunt has been launched to nab the militants involved in the blast, the sources said.
