Seven ITBP jawans wounded in grenade attack in JK

Srinagar: Seven Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) personnel and a civilian were wounded in a grenade attack by militants in South Kashmir's Pulwama district this evening (Dec 27, 2003), officials said.

Militants tossed a grenade at a security force picket at Kakapora at around 20.00 hrs (IST), which exploded injuring seven ITBP jawans and a passer-by, the officials said.

The injured were admitted to hospital in Srinagar.

No militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the attack.
