Season's first snowfall in 'queen of hills' Darjeeling

Darjeeling , the 'Queen of Hills' experiences the first snowfall of the season
Siliguri (WB): Darjeeling, the queen of hills, today (Dec 28, 2003) experienced season's first snowfall with tourists enjoying it to the optimum.

The maximum snowfall was reported at the Tiger Hill, while Bijanbari and the road leading to Darjeeling from Ghum also experienced the fall, official sources said.

The deposition of snow was three to four inches at some places even in the town.

Darjeeling district Superintendent of Police Rajiv Mishra said police personnel were deployed at busy turnings to avoid accidents.

After hearing the news, many people were rushing from Siliguri to Darjeeling.
