Armed gunmen attack Barauni bottling plant; 2 killed

Begusarai (Bihar): Armed gunmen today (Dec 29, 2003) stormed the Barauni Refinery Gas Bottling Plant and resorted to indiscriminate firing killing two labourers and injuring as many.

Police said the assailants armed with automatic weapons stormed the plant and rained bullets on labourers killing Mallu Rai (60) and Niraj Mishra on the spot.

Pramod Singh and Shubhak Sharma, who were injured in the attack, were being treated at the plant's hospital.

The cause behind the incident was being ascertained.

Raids were being conducted at various places to arrest the assailants.
