MDMK decision won't affect stability of Govt: BJP
Monday, December 29 2003 19:51 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today (Dec 29, 2003) described as "sad" the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK)'s decision to leave the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Government but said there was no question mark on the stability of the Government.

"The separation of MDMK is a sad development but there is no question mark on the Government's stability. The statement by MDMK shows that this step was due to compulsions of Dravidian politics and like the DMK (Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) it would continue to extend outside support to the NDA," party spokesman Prakash Javadekar told reporters.

He said Lok Sabha elections are yet to be declared and the number of partners would be increasing.
