MDMK Ministers resign from NDA Government

New Delhi: Union Ministers M Kannappan and Gingee N Ramachandran of Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) today (Dec 30, 2003) submitted their resignations to Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

The move follows a decision by MDMK to pull out of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and withdraw its two Ministers from the Union Government yesterday.

MDMK, which has four members in Lok Sabha, including the two ministers, took a decision to this effect keeping in mind Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) overtures to forge an alliance with All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), chairman of MDMK presidium L Ganesan had said.
