There should be no pre-conditions for talks: Pak Saturday, January 3 2004 20:48 Hrs (IST) Islamabad:
Keeping up its pursuit of a comprehensive dialogue with India, Pakistan, however, insisted today (Jan 3, 2004) that there should be no pre-conditions for that as it will not be helpful.
"Some of the formulations that are mentioned (by India) go beyond (what was discussed in) Agra. Many things have happened after Agra and I do not see why they (India) have changed the formulations (of Agra)."
"There should be a dialogue without pre-conditions as it will not help," Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri told a press conference on the eve of the SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation) Summit beginning tomorrow.
He said Pakistan was ready for a comprehensive dialogue with India "anytime anywhere, but it takes two to tango".
He said Vajpayee's visit to Islamabad would provide a good opportunity which should not be missed.
