Vajpayee arrives in Islamabad for SAARC Summit

Islamabad: Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee arrived in Islamabad this afternoon (Jan 3, 2004) to attend the seven-nation SAARC (South Asian association for Regional Co-operation) Summit beginning tomorrow (Jan 4).

Vajpayee was welcomed with a warm handshake by his Pakistani counterpart Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali as he alighted from the IAF (Indian Air Force) plane.

Pakistan Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz and High Commissioner to India Aziz Ahmed were also present at the Islamabad International Airport to greet him.
