Stamp scam: Karnataka Minister Roshan Baig resigns

Bangalore: Karnataka Minister for Small Scale Industries Roshan Baig has resigned following allegations about his links with the fake stamp paper scam, official sources said.

Baig has submitted his resignation to Chief Minister S M Krishna, the sources said.

Baig had come under Opposition attack, particularly from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which had alleged about his links with the multi-crore scandal and been vociferously demanding his resignation.

Rehan Baig, brother of Roshan Baig, had recently surrendered before the Special Investigation Team (STAMPIT) of Karnataka which had been looking for him in connection with the scam.

Roshan Baig has denied any links with the scam.
