Jayalalithaa sacks two Cabinet Ministers
Monday, January 5 2004 10:24 Hrs (IST)

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa today (Jan 4, 2004) sacked two of her Cabinet colleagues.

The sacked Ministers were Food Minister P Mohan and Local Administration Minister M C Sampath.

The action came apparently after her meeting with AIADMK (All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) party workers from Villupuram and Cuddalore districts, from where the Ministers hailed.

Jayalalithaa had met the partymen from these districts yesterday and they had reportedly complained about the style of functioning of the two Ministers.

The portfolio of M C Sampath has been allocated to Information Minister K P Anbalagan, while the Food portfolio held by P Mohan has been handed over to Finance Minister C Ponnaiyan, a press release from the Raj Bhavan said.
