"I came to the President's house with a vision that by 2020 India is a developed, peaceful and prosperous nation. I believe in 'Vision 2020' when India would be a better place to live in with development all around and now I am marketing this vision," the President said.
Replying to another question, he said, "Hindi is the national language and it is being developed."
However, Kalam said he believed that mother tongue should be the medium till plus two.
He said successful leaders could never be defeated by problems. They become master of the situation and defeat the problems.
On being asked about his major failure in life, Kalam said he considered the unsuccessful attempt to put satellite in orbit in 1979 was his major failure. However, "one must learn how to handle failure."
