Pak hopes for composite dialogue with India
Monday, January 5 2004 21:21 Hrs (IST)

Islamabad: Pakistan tonight (Jan 5, 2004) expressed the hope that the present Indo-Pak process of confidence building measures will culminate in a composite dialogue, which will cover all issues including Jammu and Kashmir.

Welcoming as "positive and significant development" Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's meeting with Pakistani leaders, Pakistan Foreign Office spokesman Masood Khan said, "We hope the meetings will have a positive impact on peace and security in the region. But this is just a beginning".

Asked about Pakistan Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed's comments that India raised the issue of terrorism and Pakistan talked about Kashmir at the meeting between Vajpayee and Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf, the spokesman responded by saying that he could not go into the details.

Reacting to Rashid's comments that more meetings between the leaders of the two countries were likely to take place, he said he has no information on this.
