| | India, Pak must understand each other's problems: PM Monday, January 5 2004 13:50 Hrs (IST) Islamabad:
Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today (Jan 5, 2004) said dialogue between India and Pakistan should continue and both the countries should understand each other's problems to "find a way out".
"Samvad lagatar chalta rahe. Aur ek doosre ke mushkil ko samaj kar hum milkar kaam karne ka rasta nikalte rahe (Dialogue should continue. One should understand the other's problem and work together to find a way out)," he said while laying the foundation stone for a 10-acre residential complex for the staff of the Indian High Commission opposite the Chancery.
Speaking just ahead of his meeting with President Pervez Musharraf, the Prime Minister said, "New questions have come up and new answers are being sought. In this context, it is necessary the representation in the respective missions of the two countries is appropriate."
"I am laying the foundation stone for the new complex. I am confident that this building will stand on a firm footing and in all weather - like today the weather has changed somewhat - in all weather it will stand firm. And those who occupy would fulfill their responsibilities.
"In these responsibilities, they (mission staff) have a big responsibility to ensure that good relations are maintained with Pakistan. I am confident that the mission will be useful in this purpose," he said.
