| | Lie detector test conducted on Dubey murder accused Tuesday, January 6 2004 20:37 Hrs (IST) New Delhi:
CBI has carried out a lie detector test on a rickshaw-puller, arrested in connection with the murder of National Highways Authority official Satyendra Dubey, and the agency was now awaiting its detailed report from the CFSL (Central Forensic Sciences Laboratory).
CBI sources said the polygraph test was carried out on the rickshaw-puller, Pradeep Kumar, who was arrested in December 2003. The test was carried out to ascertain whether the version given by him was correct or not.
It has been alleged that Dubey was murdered after he pointed out corruption in the construction of Golden Quadrilateral Project in Bihar.
The CBI registered a case against unknown persons under 120-B (criminal conspiracy) and 302 (murder) of Indian Penal Code and various provision under Arms Act on December 14 as his murder was seen as a deep-rooted conspiracy of the builder-mafia entrusted with work of National Highway in Bihar.
According to the version of Kumar, the murder of Dubey was more or less a roadside robbery and that he was killed by some hooligans after he resisted their robbery attempt.
The CBI managed to trace Kumar with the help of the stolen cell phone of Dubey.
The agency would also question and later carry out a lie detector test on driver and other staff of Dubey, the CBI sources said.
