Vajpayee chairs CCS; discusses security scenario

New Delhi: A day after his return from Pakistan, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) today (Jan 7, 2004) and is understood to have discussed the security scenario in the light of the decision by the two countries to resume a composite dialogue next month to resolve all outstanding issues, including Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting was attended among others by Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani, External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha, Finance Minister Jaswant Singh, Defence Minister George Fernandes, National Security Adviser Brajesh Mishra, Army Chief N C Vij and Naval Chief Madhvendra Singh.
