Lok Sabha polls likely in first half of May: BJP

New Delhi: Lok Sabha elections may be held in the first half of May, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) sources said tonight (Jan 8, 2004).

The formal poll exercise is expected to begin in the middle of March, the sources said.

The Government is likely to come forward with another batch of tax sops before a short session of Parliament to get passed an interim budget prior to vote on account and dissolution of the Lok Sabha, the sources said.
