| | PM takes note of political resolution at BJP meet Monday, January 12 2004 14:35 Hrs (IST) Hyderabad:
Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today (Jan 12, 2004) took note of the political resolution at the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) National Executive asking for early polls and said there was a debate going on in the country on the issue.
"The resolution asking the Government to call for early polls is before me. There is a debate going on about advancing the elections. I don't want to read out the resolution again," he said in his remarks at the concluding session of the executive, which discussed the political resolution.
The Prime Minister said the NDA (National Democratic Alliance) has become "desirable and inevitable" to the country and all the earlier mis-propaganda against it has gone away.
He said the people's confidence in the NDA has grown because of the good Government and the governance it has given and they were looking to it further.
Referring to BJP's victory in three States in the recent Assembly elections, Vajpayee said the transformation in these States was peaceful and democratic.
