A real estate agent today (Jan 13, 2004) dragged Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan to court for not paying him brokerage for the flat purchased by him two years back.
The complaint was filed by Anees Ahmed, a real estate agent, in the court of additional chief metropolitan magistrate K B Pankhe at suburban Bandra.
On a plea made by his lawyer Waris Pathan, the court has posted the matter to January 16 for verification and issue of summons to the actor.
The complainant alleged that the actor had not paid him brokerage of Rs 3.82 lakhs towards the services rendered by him in helping him purchase a flat in "Deep Van" building in suburban Khar.
Despite legal notices, Shah Rukh Khan failed to pay the brokerage or even reply to them, the complainant alleged.
He has charged the actor with cheating (section 420 IPC) and criminal breach of trust (section 406 IPC).
