Spy network busted; 2 Pak spies nabbed in Jaipur Tuesday, January 13 2004 19:53 Hrs (IST) Jaipur:
Rajasthan Police today (Jan 13, 2004) claimed to have foiled an international network of spies with the arrest of two Pakistani nationals and one Indian agent operating an office at Vidhyadhar Nagar posh area in Jaipur, a senior official said.
The spies caught red-handed are, Habib Ibrahim Rehmutala, ex-policemen of Oman, his wife Sonu Nagma and Indian agent Bhagwan Sahai working as an abettor, Inspector General of Police (IGP) A K Jain told a press conference in Jaipur.
A number of telephone diaries, e-mail addresses, photos and documents were seized from their house after they were arrested at a bus stand which they used frequently for transmitting information to Pakistan, Jain said.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Habib had supplied some very important information about Army and Air Force base of Jodhpur to his sources in Karachi with whom he was in constant touch and getting lakhs of Rupees through hawala, the IGP said.
Habib, the mastermind having dossiers on Indian Army and Air Force, had moved to Jaipur in December with his wife Sonu (Indian before marriage and resident of Ajmer) whom he married in 1997, the superintendent of police Anand Srivasatav, who busted the spy gang, said in the joint press conference.
