Laloo flays Bihar's Central Ministers for backwardness Wednesday, January 14 2004 14:31 Hrs (IST) Patna:
Charging the Union Ministers from Bihar with being indifferent to the cause of the State, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Laloo Prasad Yadav has asked his partymen, including MLAs and ministers, to fan out to their areas to highlight the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) failure and make preparations for the Lok Sabha polls.
The Centre has adopted a step-motherly attitude towards Bihar only because of these ministers, he claimed.
Addressing the meeting of the RJD legislature party (RJDLP) held at the Chief Minister's residence last night (Jan 13, 2004) to review the political situation arising out of Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) plan to hold early Lok Sabha elections, Yadav urged his partymen to refrain from making unnecessary and controversial statements and work for further strengthening the party's base.
Cautioning the partymen against indiscipline, he asked them to remain united to fight the "communal forces" with full vigour and strength, camp in their constituencies and launch a mass-awakening campaign against the alleged misrule of NDA.
"It was a great responsibility to stamp out communal forces from power at the Centre and we have to do our best to achieve the objective," he said.
The meeting also discussed the strategy for firming up alliances with other secular groups for elections.
