$10,000 reward for information on Indian student's murder
Thursday, January 15 2004 10:46 Hrs (IST)

Washington: The investigating agencies in Florida have announced a $ 10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the murder of Sudheer Reddy Satti, an Indian graduate assistant at the University of Florida.

Reddy, hailing from Hyderabad, was found dead in the bedroom of his apartment at Maguire village on January 4. Police said he was stabbed to death.

The $ 10,000 reward would be given to those who provide information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case, local media reported.

Police have released details of a stereo system, speaker phone, a VCR and a DVD player missing from Reddy's apartment, hoping it might lead to information in the case.

Reddy's body was discovered by the authorities after his friends, who last heard from him on December 31, reported the matter.

The murder was the first such incident in the campus in 25 years.

Reddy, who did his engineering in India, came to the US to work on his graduate degree in civil engineering in 2002. He worked as a graduate assistant while working on his doctorate.
