Six killed, 15 injured in Bihar rail accident

Gaya (Bihar): Six people were killed and 15 injured in a collision between a passenger train and a rail engine near Jaddugram in Dhanbad division yesterday (Jan 17, 2004) evening, police said.

The 302 DN Varanasi-Asansol passenger train collided with a light engine that had rolled down due to failure of brakes after hitting a cow on Gaya-Koderma section.

Rail traffic was disrupted following the accident; police said.

Meanwhile, in Patna sources in East Central Railway Zone said two relief trains from Dhanbad and Mughalsarai divisions have rushed to the scene.
