Electronics Warfare Communication inducted into Army

Hyderabad: A state-of-the-art Electronic Warfare Communication (EWC) system was today (Jan 19, 2004) inducted into the Army with President A P J Abdul Kalam, formally handing over the first set of 26 vehicles fitted with the indigenously developed integrated surveillance system in Hyderabad.

Christened as 'Samyukta', the system that helps in identifying and jamming the enemy's radar and communication frequency bands, was handed over to the Chief of Army Staff General N C Vij in the presence of Defence Minister George Fernandes at Electronics System Engineering Centre (ELSEC) on the city outskirts.
