Even as details for the proposed Indo-Pak composite dialogue next month are still being worked out, Pakistan today (Jan 19, 2004) offered to host technical-level talks with India in March on starting bus services between Srinagar and Muzzaffarabad in Pak-occupied Kashmir (PoK) as well as Munabao in Rajasthan and Kokhrapar in Sindh province.
"The Cabinet of Pakistan has offered to India to host technical-level talks on the Kokhrapar-Munabao bus service on March 8 to 9 and Muzzaffarabad-Srinagar bus service in March 29 and 30 respectively," Foreign Ministry spokesman Masood Khan told a weekly news briefing.
With regard to the proposed composite dialogue to be held next month, Khan said the details were still being worked out.
"The dates, venue, level and agenda are being worked out through the diplomatic channels between the two countries," he said.
On December 31, three days before Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee flew for the SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) Summit to Islamabad where he also met President Pervez Musharraf, India proposed technical-level talks for establishment of Srinagar-Muzzaffarabad bus link in the week beginning January 19 and for Munabao-Kokhrapar service in the week beginning January 12.
