Stamp scam: Waheed remanded to 10 days' custody

Hyderabad: Syed Waheed, a key person in the multi-crore fake stamp scam, was remanded to 10 days' police custody by a court today (Jan 21, 2004).

Waheed, who was in Bangalore Central Prison, was brought from Bangalore yesterday by sleuths of SIT (Special Investigation Team), probing the case.

The SIT personnel today produced Waheed before the 9th metropolitan magistrate Radhakrishna who remanded him to 10 days' custody.

An official of SIT said, "We expect some vital clues from Waheed, who played am major role in marketing fake stamp papers."
