There are over 80 terrorist camps in Pak: Army Chief
Monday, January 26 2004 11:35 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: There are over 80 terrorist camps in Pakistan and communication from terrorists "still goes on", Army Chief N C Vij said tonight.

Asked whether the process of dismantling of terrorist camps had commenced in the neighbouring country, he said, "No. There is minor change of shifting camps here and there. This is always done in winter," he told NDTV 24 x 7.

He attributed intense cold weather and other factors for infiltration not being there at this time.

"The terrorist infrastructure still exists (in Pakistan). There are 80 odd camps still there. The communication from terrorists still goes on," he said.

"I think the right time to give a proper assessment is May and June when the infiltration season really begins," he said.
