BJP national council member kidnapped in Bihar

Sasaram: A national council member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Sikander Rai was kidnapped by unidentified gunmen in Bihar's Rohtas district late last night (Jan 27, 2004).

Police said some armed miscreants intercepted the jeep of Rai near Paruri village of the district, about 15 km from Sasaram, when he was on his way from Bikramganj to Jamuhar village.

They abducted Rai, but no harm was done to four others accompanying the BJP leader.

Police were conducting raids to nab the culprits.
