Warrant against Kalam: Magistrate suspended

Ahmedabad: The Gujarat High Court today (Jan 29, 2004) placed under suspension the Metropolitan Magistrate M S Brahmbhatt for his alleged role in issuing bailable warrants against the President, Chief Justice of India and other members of the judiciary.

The Incharge Registrar, Gujarat High Court, A K Aswani, said, "Gujarat High Court has decided to place Brahmbhatt, Metropolitan Magistrate, Court No 10, under suspension with immediate effect for his misconduct and conduct unbecoming of a judicial officer."

Meanwhile, Ahmedabad-based Zee News journalist was roughed up by advocates at the metropolitan court in Meghani Nagar today, court sources said.
