4 hideouts busted in JK; 22 kg explosives recovered Friday, January 30 2004 17:35 Hrs (IST) Jammu:
Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir busted 4 hideouts from Doda, Jammu, Rajouri and Poonch districts and recovered nearly one tonne of ration, 22 kg explosives and 30 explosive devices last night, official sources said today (Jan 30, 2004).
On specific information, security forces busted a hideout in Doda district and recovered 5 kg of high-grade explosives and 150 kg of ration last night, the sources said, adding, however, no one was arrested.
Troops busted a high-altitude hideout in Mendhar forest area of Poonch district last night, and recovered 6 hand-grenade, 4 detonators, 800 kg of rice, 100 kg of atta and one Sintex tank of 500 litres filled with kerosene, they said.
Troops also recovered a huge cache of arms and explosives including 2 AK rifles, 2 magazines, 115 rounds, 10 pistols, 2 magazines, 75 rounds, 15 kg explosives, icon radio set, 2-way radio wave detonating device and one icon radio set charger from Arnia area of Jammu district yesterday, they said.
Another hideout was busted in Surankote area of Poonch district and one AK rifle, 250 grams explosives, one UBGL, one pistol, one radio set and 7 explosive detonators were recovered from there.
One AK rifle, 2 magazines, 48 rounds, one pistol, one magazine, 2 explosive detonators, 2 kg of explosives, three HE-82 mm bombs, 2 grenades, one pistol, one UBGL, 6 grenades and radio set were recovered in Banihal area of Doda district early today, the sources said.
