DMK allots 10 seats to Cong, 4 to MDMK Saturday, January 31 2004 20:04 Hrs (IST) Chennai:
Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) president M Karunanidhi today (Jan 31, 2004) said Congress would be allotted 10 seats for the coming Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu.
He told reporters tonight that decision in regard to seven seats had been finalised. A decision will be taken in a day or two on the remaining three, he added.
The seven seats allotted to Congress are Myiladuthurai, Sivaganga, Gobichettipalayam, Nilgiris, Palani, Dindigul and Rasipuram (reserved), he said.
Karunanidhi said under an agreement reached tonight, MDMK (Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) had been allotted four seats and Communist Party of India - Marxist (CPM) two.
Sivakasi, Tiruchirapallai, Vandavasi, and Pollachi (reserved) had been allotted to MDMK while Madurai, and Nagercoil would be given to CPM, he said.
