India to send 400 athletes for SAF games: IOA

Islamabad: India today (Jan 31, 2004) said it would send over 400 athletes to take part in the ninth South Asian Federation (SAF) Games, which will be held in Islamabad from March 29 to April 7.

"The fact that we attended today's meeting with biggest delegation speaks volumes about our preparations for fully participating in the SAF Games here," said the secretary general of Indian Olympic Association, Randhir Singh, who took part in the executive meeting of the South Asian Sports Federation (SASF), the sports body of the seven-member SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation) countries, said today.
