Dubey case: 'CBI men poisoned my son to death' Monday, February 2 2004 18:53 Hrs (IST) Gaya:
Gaya police registered an FIR (First Information Report) against the members of the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) team probing the Satyendra Dubey murder case.
The FIR was based on the complaint of the father of one of the deceased who alleged that the CBI had poisoned them to death in course of questioning, Police Superintendent Sanjay Singh said.
Singh told reporters in Gaya that the police instituted the case on the complaint of Baijnath Sah, father of Sheonath Kumar Sah who along with Mukendra Paswan had committed suicide.
Baijnath charged the CBI with having poisoned Sheonath and Paswan during the interrogation, he said adding a DSP-ranking officer was being assigned to probe the allegation.
If necessary, we will seek sanction from the Centre for custodial interrogation or arrest of CBI men probing the case, Singh said.
He said the relatives of deceased had earlier alleged that the two committed suicide as they were subjected to torture by the CBI officials during interrogation.
Sheonath Kumar Sah and Mukendra Paswan, who were grilled by CBI for several hours here during the past few days, fell unconscious after consuming pesticide at their native village Katari under Chandauti police station.
They were later admitted to A N Medical College Hospital where they died last night (Feb 1, 2004).
