Police busts fake currency racket, ISI agents held

Khatima (Uttaranchal): Uttaranchal police today (Feb 4, 2004) claimed to have busted a fake Indian currency racket and arrested two alleged agents of Pakistan's ISI (Inter-Service Intelligence) in this regard.

Zakir Ali and Zahid Ali were arrested when they were caught trying to smuggle fake Indian currency and cross the Indo-Nepal border at Tanakpur in Champawat district of Uttaranchal.

During interrogation, the duo disclosed that they were running a computerised "mini factory" to produce fake Indian currency at Baheri area in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh.

In a pre-dawn raid today, police busted the factory and seized several computers, scanners and copiers from Baheri.

Police is also looking for other accomplices of the duo who are part of the fake currency racket.
