CBI rules out change in team probing Dubey murder Thursday, February 5 2004 12:47 Hrs (IST) Gaya:
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Director Umashanker Mishra today (Feb 5, 2004) ruled out any change in the team probing the killing of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) project manager Satyendra Dubey following the alleged suicide committed by two persons whom the CBI had interrogated in the case and said instead the team would be further strengthened.
''We will not make any changes in the present team. We have engaged our best investigators in the case,'' Mishra told reporters after reviewing the progress made by the team in investigating the high-priority case.
''We will not demoralise our officers who have done a good job,'' he said while replying to a question on the possibility of change in the agency team.
He, however, said any official found guilty of any wrongdoing would not be spared.
Mishra said the death of Mukendra Paswan and Sheonath Sah, who he clarified were not suspects in the case, had badly hampered the probe as they had co-operated with the investigating agency a lot.
Mishra said he would depute an official of joint director rank to monitor the investigation in the murder case.
