Three militants killed in encounters in J&K

Srinagar: Three militants were killed in two separate encounters today (Feb 5, 2004) with security forces in North Kashmir's Kupwara and Baramulla district, a Defence spokesman said.

Two militants were killed in an encounter at Chatti village in Kupwara this morning, he said.

The spokesman said another militant was killed in a gun-battle with security forces in Bandipura area of Baramulla district.

The affiliations of the militants were not immediately known, he said.
