Mumbai twin blast accused charged under POTA

Mumbai: Police today (Feb 05, 2004) filed chargesheet in a POTA (Prevention of Terrorism Act) court, charging six accused with conspiring with Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) to strike terror in the country by creating a series of blasts in which more than 55 people were killed and nearly 180 injured.

The chargesheet, filed by special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam, pertained to the Ghatkopar blast of July 28 and twin blasts of August 25 at Gateway of India and Zaveri Bazaar last year.

The chargesheet also included the explosives seizure case of December 6, 2002, at Santacruz Export Electronics Processing Zone in suburban Andheri.
