Cong demands Vajpayee's apology for vilifying Rajiv Friday, February 6 2004 22:55 Hrs (IST) New Delhi:
Congress today (Feb 6, 2004) demanded an apology from Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for the "vilification" campaign against Rajiv Gandhi in the Bofors pay-off case.
"It was the Vajpayee Government which had included Rajiv Gandhi's name posthumously in Column II of the CBI charge sheet in the case as an accused," Congress spokesman Anand Sharma told reporters in reply to a volley of questions on the issue.
"I demand the Prime Minister show his grace and apologise" for the "vilification" campaign to "malign" the image of Gandhi and inclusion of his name in the charge sheet," Sharma said.
