Stamp scam: Telgi's interim bail plea rejected

Bangalore: The Special Court trying the multi-crore fake stamp paper cases, today (Feb 6, 2004) rejected a plea by prime accused Abdul Karim Telgi seeking interim bail to visit his mother and wife at Khanapur in Belgaum district on the grounds that they were ailing.

Special Judge A T Manoli dismissed the leave application in this regard filed by Telgi.

The Special Court located at the Parappana Agrahara jail on the city outskirts adjourned to February 10 hearing on another application filed by Telgi seeking withdrawal of extra security for him in the jail as well as cameras installed in his cell to watch his movements.

Hearing on another application of the Special Investigation Team (STAMPIT), seeking the permission of the Court to subject Telgi to narco-analysis test was also adjourned to Tuesday (Feb 10).
