Cong has a history of ditching alliance partners: BJP Sunday, February 8 2004 14:15 Hrs (IST) New Delhi:
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today (Feb 8, 2004) said the Congress does not know the art of managing alliances as they are always suspicious about the intention of its alliance partners.
"Congress president Sonia Gandhi yesterday said the BJP was pressurising BSP not to go with Congress, but Mayawati is not a coward as described by Sonia. She has got an independent mind. Sonia has undermined Mayawati by calling her a coward. We do not call our alliance party a coward," BJP president M Venkaiah Naidu said at a felicitation function organised by people of Uttaranchal.
Even before the polls, it looks like Congress is heading for a divorce with its alliance parties, Naidu added.
Congress has the history of ditching its alliance partners, he said, adding that now, even before the polls, it has made its intention clear.
Naidu said Congress does not have any other agenda other than the dynastic politics.
Describing the forthcoming election a great war which the BJP must win to further develop the country, Naidu said, "We will go to every village, walk every street and knock every door and talk with everyone".
