Thiruvananthapuram: Outgoing Kerala Pradesh Conmgress Committee (KPCC) president K Muraleedharan will join the A K Antony Cabinet in Kerala on February 11 as part of the patch-up formula worked out by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) to settle the long drawn-out crisis in the party.

According to a spokesman at the Chief Minister's office, Muraleedharan will be sworn in as Minister by Governor Sikander Bakht at the Raj Bhavan at 13:40 hours (IST) on Feb 11.

Chief Minister A K Antony called on Bakht at the Raj Bhavan this evening.

Son of veteran Congress leader K Karunakaran, Muraleedharan was elected to the Lok Sabha twice from Kozhikode constituency. He was appointed KPCC president in May 2001, the same day Antony took over as Chief Minister.

Muraleedharan had recently offered to quit as KPCC chief paving the way for his entry into the Cabinet as proposed by the high command.
