Shalom to hold talks with Indian leaders tomorrow Monday, February 9 2004 14:34 Hrs (IST) New Delhi:
Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom will tomorrow (Feb 10, 2004) hold talks with Indian leaders on further strengthening strategic relationship between the two countries.
Shalom will meet External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha and Defence Minister George Fernandes besides calling on President A P J Abdul Kalam.
Both sides are interested in consolidation of their ongoing diplomatic, economic and security cooperation.
The Israeli Minister, who arrived in Mumbai this morning (Feb 09, 2004) on a four-day visit to India, will have an interaction with business leaders and the Jewish community. He will arrive in New Delhi this evening.
The two countries feel there is tremendous scope for enhancing bilateral trade from the existing level of $1.5 billion.
In the first-ever visit by an Israeli Prime Minister to India, Ariel Sharon had come in September last year marking an all-time high in ties between the two countries.
