Stamp scam: AP cops remanded to judicial custody Monday, February 9 2004 16:40 Hrs (IST) Hyderabad:
A local court today (Feb 09, 2004) remanded to 30-days judicial custody two policemen, including a DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police), arrested in connection with the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam.
The AP Stamps Investigation Team (SIT) yesterday (Feb 08, 2004) arrested DSP Satyanayana Reddy and Sub-Inspector Madhu Mohan of Central Crime Station (CCS) for their alleged involvement in helping the agents of scam kingpin Abdul Karim Telgi.
Reddy and Mohan, who were booked under the AP Control of Organised Crime Act (COCA), were produced before metropolitan sessions judge Jaganadh Reddy who remanded them to judicial custody till March eight.
So far, three policemen were arrested in fake stamp paper scam in the State.
Earlier, the sleuths of SIT took custody of a head constable K P Reddy who was attached to Maredpalli police station in north zone last month.
