Telgi paid 22 lakh to Sharma, 32 lakh to TDP MLA Monday, February 9 2004 16:14 Hrs (IST) Pune:
Former Mumbai Police Commissioner R S Sharma had been paid Rs 22 lakh and the former Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA C Krishna Yadav Rs 32 lakh by the prime accused Abdul Karim Telgi in the multi-crore fake stamp paper racket.
This stunning information was presented today (Feb 9, 2004) in the court by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) when it submitted the report of Narco-Analysis Test which was carried out on Telgi in January.
The report, which was presented in the court by the SIT also revealed that the Samajwadi Janata Party MLA Anil Gote was getting a large sum of money from Telgi for his Kisan trust which was floated by Gote and Telgi at Mumbai.
In return, Anil Gote helped Telgi in selling his fake stamp papers.
During the Narco Analysis, Telgi is said to have admitted that he has relations with some ministers in Karnataka Cabinet, assistant ministers, MLAs, DIGs, SPs, ACPs up to the rank of PI (Inspector of Police).
